Geoffrey Deacon Racehorse Training – Latest News

Thanks to Louise (Yard secretary) for writing this article. We will be keeping you up-to-date with future news from the stables, watch this space!

All of us at Geoffrey Deacon Training are very proud to announce our new yard sponsorship with West Berkshire Brewery.

We are looking forward to keeping you up-to-date with our news over the coming months – perhaps we might even be able to give you some winning tips, which we can celebrate over a pint of Good Old Boy! Horseracing and beer – definitely a winning combination!

We have been based here at the beautiful and historic Hamilton Stables in Compton, Berkshire – just five miles away from the West Berkshire Brewery – for just over two years now and have trained 34 winners on our wonderful private grass gallops on the Downs, some of the best in the country.

We have had a busy few weeks lately with lots of runners out and about; we are easy to spot at the races now that we have smart new WBB branded rugs and jackets – even the lorry and gallops Land Rover have been given a makeover with the WBB logo!

Yard stalwart Glastonberry ran bravely at Nottingham on August 14, battling through the mud to finish a respectable fourth. This means that she qualifies for a valuable sprint championship final on the same track in September, running on behalf of the Geoffrey Deacon Racing Club.

If you are interested in getting involved with the Club – or if you would just like to visit us and see the horses – get in contact, we would love to meet you.

We are looking forward to keeping you all involved with our news; maybe we will see one or two of you at the races? Come and say hi if you are at the races and we are there with a runner.
