tryanuary discoveries

So what did you drink during #tryanuary? Did you discover anything amazing? (or disgusting…?) Did you find any new bars/bottle shops or breweries that you didn’t know were there? I think my personal favourite find was The Gribble Inn, Oving (I drank a Fuzzy Duck English Bitter) . They have their own Brewery on site and the pub has fab food and a welcoming atmosphere to match.

We’re spoiled for choice around these parts when it comes to pubs, The Catherine Wheel in Newbury always has a great selection of real ales and a large amount of craft beer in bottles and cans. We invaded The Wheel and The Cow & Cask, also in Newbury, after our (January) Christmas party. The Cow & Cask is the first micro-pub we’ve had in Newbury. There is a constant turn over of beer coming from all over the place. You’re sure to find something you like there and there’ll  be something different the next time you visit.

The Flower Pots Inn, Cheriton has a great selection of beer, especially their pale ale, Perridge Pale 3.6%. We tried a fair few Siren beers during Jan including squealer (6.5% Sour-Berliner Weisse) Soundwave (5.5% West Coast IPA) Liquid Mistress (5.8% West Coast Red IPA) and more!

Lets not forget all the great things that are coming out of our very own Renegade Brewery! ‘Terry couldn’t handle this’ 5.1% Chocolate Orange Milk Stout – ‘Once in a Blue Moon’ 4.7% Blueberry IPA – ‘Spartacus’ 5.1% New World Twist on a Classic ESB – The new ISA V2 is tasting awesome, think hops, citrus, body, due to be released later this year. Here’s a few other things in the pipeline.

We hope you managed to subject your pallet to some unusual flavours over January, beery flavours of course, lets not get blue…

Look out for more NEW BEER being announced very soon!
