These puffs of delight always seem to cause trouble in the kitchen so Head Chef Shaun Cheyney has come up with a fool proof recipe and tips to create the most delicious of Yorkie puds to go with this years festive feast. Renegade Lager is a winner with all sorts of dishes as the delicate citrus flavours don’t overpower the palate, but who knew you could also use it in the recipe as well?!

Renegade Lager Yorkshire Pudding

Servings: 6-10 depending on tray size

Preparation time: 10 minutes

Cooking time: 20 minutes

Total time: 30 minutes

Ingredients:

5 eggs

170g flour

330ml Renegade Lager (1 can)

Vegetable oil

METHOD

  1. Put the oven on 200 degrees celcius
  2. Crack open eggs into a bowl and give a good whisk until light and fluffy
  3. Add lager and whisk until combined
  4. Slowly add the flour bit by bit until the mixture is smooth
  5. Once the over is up to temperature, add a good slosh of oil to your Yorkshire trays and heat in the oven for 5 minutes
  6. Divide your mixture evenly into the trays and cook for 20 minutes until puffed up and brown

Tip!

Throw a little water on to the oven base before you close the door to create a little steam. This helps them rise a little more than normal.
